ARTILLERY UNIT
ESTABLISHMENT IN DISTRICT SUGGESTED. MEETING IN MASTERTON. A move is on foot in Masterton to endeavour to establish a volunteer artillery unit here. A meeting of ex-artillery men was held during the week-end, at which there was an attendance of about 30. The possibilities of forming an artillery unit in the district were discussed with enthusiasm and it was decided to communicate with the headquarters of the Second Field Artillery and ascertain the position. It was agreed also to hold a reunion of ex-artillery men of the First New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the near future.
