ARRANGEMENTS FOR COMING WEEK CLASSES AND PARADES. I EXAMINATION OF RIFLES. Arrangements for the coming week for the Masterton Battalion of the Home Guard are: — Classes: —N.C.O’s.: Tuesday, August 12, at Municipal Hall at 7 p.m. P.T.: At Municipal Hall at 7 p.m. (note change in place of assembly). Officers and Senr. N.C.O's.: At Municipal Hall at 7 p.m., march io College Assembly Hall to hear lecture by Colonel Rowe. N.C.O’s. of the rank of platoon sergeant and higher will also attend. Officers are to note change of time of assembly. Signallers: Parades as arranged by signal officer. Ambulance: Country details: Tuesday, August 12, at St. John's rooms at. 7 p.m. Town details: Thursday, August 14, at 7 p.m. Parades: A Co. at Drill Hall, Thursday, August 14, at 7 p.m.; C Co. at Municipal Hall, Thursday, August 14, at 7 p.m.; Battalion Headquarters and A and C companies at respective drill halls, Sunday, August 17, at 8 a.m.; march to aerodrome to Pipe Band which will parade at Municipal Hall at 8 a.m. Parade will be held wet or fine and cover is available. Other units as arranged by unit commanders. An exercise for officers will be held tomorrow at Bennett’s Hill Road at 1 p.m. Tactical exercise without troops under direction of Lieut. Col. G. G. Hancox. Officers are required to attend without fail. In the event of rain to ring school house, phone 1140. In future A and C Co. officers will attend at Orderly Room, Municipal Hall ten minutes before all parades to discuss programme of training for the parade and also modifications which, may be necessary owing to weather. 1 Company commanders will have alternative programmes ready in case of rain. The week commencing Monday next is allocated to gunsmith’s examination and classification of rifles held by D and E companies. Platoon commanders of these companies arc to arrange to forward all rifles to Qrmstr. Sgt. R. Jenkins, 80 Bannister Street, Masterton, immediately. Acceptance of delivery should be arranged before despatching rifles. Rifles from districts near Masterton should arrive not later than Monday morning. Each rifle must have a label securely attached showing clearly:-—(a) Full name and address of owners (b) full name and address of present holder; (c) name of holder’s platoon or other unit. Care must be exercised to ensure that rifles are sufficiently well packed to prevent damage. Freight will be met by area. The Mt. Bruce Platoon, D Co. will parade at Malmo’s Garage, Chapel Street, Masterton, on Thursday, August 14, at 7.15 p.m., for range practice, the rifle platoon to make arrangements and supervise and arrange fob coaches.

Ranstan transferred from No. 2 Platoon, A Co. to Signal Platoon.
