VICTORY BADGES
YESTERDAY’S STREET SALE. OVER £7O REALISED. The street sale of Victory badges in Masterton yesterday realised over £7O. So great was the demand that the badges were sold out at 11 a.m. and members of the Masterton Women’s Patriotic Committee, who conducted the sale, set to work and made more, which were quickly sold. Many people were disappointed in not being able 1 to buy badges. In view of this and the fact that orders have been given for 100 or so, a stall will be established outside the Midland Hotel on Friday next for the sale of a further simply so that those who were unable to procure them yesterday may do so next Friday. About £l2 was received from the sale of badges at Masterton schools and the committee wishes to especially thank the school children for their response. Any other schools wishing to place orders for the badges should communicate with the secretary, Mrs O’Hara Smith. The committee also wishes to thank all who donated old hats, from which the badges were made by members of the committee and also the sellers and the public for their assistance. The funds are being used to supply comforts for soldiers.
