LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY ACTIVITIES LAST NIGHT’S PRESENTATION. FORTNIGHTLY GATHERING. “Road House,’’ a play in three acts, was presented by the Masterton Little Theatre Society at a reading held in the Country Women’s Club Room last night. Those taking part were: Act 1, Scene 2: Belle Tout (Kitty’s mother), Miss Jean Douglas; Sam Crookston, Mr Mackenzie Douglas; Jack Donovan (Lance’s father). Mr E. K. Eastwood: Algy Hamble (father of Kitty and Iris), Mr N. Flemming; Margaret Hamble (mother of Iris), Mrs J. Lawson; Major Marjoribanks, Mr W. Holdgate; Lieutenant Steele, Mr J. A. Kennedy; Sir Henry Peabody, Mr J. Kent-Johnston. Remainder of Play: Kitty Hamble (daughter of Algy and Belle), Miss Jean Douglas; Sam Crookston, Mr H. Mackenzie Douglas; Lance Donovan (Jack’s son), Mr E. K. Eastwood; Porkie Grabble, Mr W. Holdgate, Iris Glenn (daughter of Algy and Margaret), Mrs J. Lawson; Vera Lane, c Mrs E. J. Rich; Dick D’Arcy, Mr M. M. Simpson; Gordon Chester, Mr L. T. Daniell; Lady Chetwynd. Miss P. Gill; Horace, Mr J. A. Kennedy; Waiter, Mr J. Kent-Johnston. Miss B. Francis was in charge of the stage directions. On August 20, “Rope," a thriller, will be read. SOCIAL EVENING. At, a social evening held in the Savage Club Rooms this wook, three oneact plays were presented, after which supper was provided. The plays wore: “It’s Autumn Now," by Philip Johnson; Elliston Drury, John Lawson; Mrs Duxbury, Mrs F. L. Price; Edna, Ayliffe Harding; Mrs Pomfrey, Barbara Hair; Mr Pomfrey. L. T. Daniell; The Lady, Mrs John Lawson; producer, Mr John Lawson. “Just Off Piccadilly,” by James Parish: A Psychic Student. Nora Robinson: Her Brother, Montague M. Simpson; A Stranger, Graham C. Dickel. Producer, Mr M. M. Simpson. “Between the Soup and the Savoury,” by Gertrude Jennings: The Cook, Mrs R. Al Miller; who is assisted by The Kitchen Maid, June Yelverton; and The Parlour Maid, Joyce Hocquard. Producer, Winifred Reid. The stage manager was Mr J. A. Kennedy,
