ENEMY SPIES
CAUGHT AND EXECUTED IN BRITAIN. PROVIDED WITH WIRELESS APPARATUS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, August 6. Two enemy secret service agents were executed today after a trial before a judge and jury. Both were represented by counsel. It is stated that because of prompt official action neither of the men was at large in this country for more than a few hours. They were landed by seaplane off the coast of Scotland and transferred to a collapsible rubber boat. They tried to sink the boat, but failed. Both men carried suitcases, wireless transmitting and receiving stations and an ample supply of English money. They separated, and made for railway stations. A few hours later one aroused the suspicions of a stationmaster when consulting a timetable.
The rubber boat was later seen off the coast and a police search resulted in the second man being caught near Edinburgh.
