EMERGENCY ALARM

TESTS IN MASTERTON YESTERDAY. Tests were carried' out in Masterton yesterday afternoon by the borough engineer, Mr C. R. Mabson, to see if an alarm system to notify residents in the event of emergency could be installed with the present available equipment. The equipment tested produced considerable noise in the vicinity of the town but was not effective in the suburbs. Further experiments will be undertaken.
