KOPUARANGA
SOCIAL EVENING AIRCRAFTMAN ENTERTAINED. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was a large and representative gathering of district settlers at the Kopuaranga Hall last night, when Leading Aircraftman Douglas McKenzie was entertained. Friends and relatives of the guest of honour were present. Music for the dancing was provided by Mr J. West, and supper was served by a ladies’ committee. Mrs Robert Miller entertained with a recitation. Mrs Miller made the presentation of a wristlet watch to Leading Aircraftman McKenzie, and wished him success and a safe return. Mr C. C. Jackson paid tribute to the guest’s fine personal qualities, and pointed out that Leading Aircraftman McKenzie’s parents were the oldest settlers in the district. The recipient suitably replied. The gathering proved most successful, and was a credit to those responsible for its organisation.
