CRIPPLING BLOWS
* STRUCK AT ENEMY PORTS IN LIBYA LARGE MERCHANT SHIP BLOWN UP. CONTINUED AGGRESSION BY TOBRUK GARRISON. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ) LONDON, August 5. British land forces continue their aggressive action at Tobruk and further crippling blows have been struck at enemy occupied ports in Libya and shipping. In Tripoli harbour a merchant ship of 8,000 tons was blown up. Air reconnaissance shows that eleven enemy planes were destroyed and 20 others damaged in Sunday night’s raid on the air base of Reggio, in Southern Italy. ENEMY RAID ON SUEZ CANAL AREA. NINETY KILLED & 109 INJURED. An Egyptian communique reports that 90 persons were killed and 109 injured in a raid on the Suez Canal area last night.
