PETROL PROBLEM
REVIEWING OF LICENCES. ' PROCEDURE OUTLINED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In implementing the announcement recently made by the Minister of Supply. Mr Sullivan, in connection with the review of oil-fuel licences, the District Oil Fuel Controller for Wellington, Mr A. Fellow, stated yesterday that the following procedure was being adopted:— The records of licences have been withdrawn from all resellers' stations and licensees will not legally be entitled to purchase further supplies till such time as their licences have been adjusted. The holder of an oil-fuel licence is required to present the licence for amendment at the local office of the sub-district oil fuel controller which, in the city of Wellington, is situated in McKenzie’s Building, 68 Willis Street. Any person who cannot conveniently call may post his licence to the local ■ sub-district oil fuel controller. Every endeavour will be made to make the adjustment while the licensee waits, but in the event of congestion becoming too great it will be necessary for the licensee to leave his licence, which will be dealt with after the normal hours of business and posted-back to the licensee by the first available mail. “It will not be possible to discuss appeals against reductions during the rush period, and any licensee who considers that he has grounds for appeal must set cut his case fully, in writing, for consideration by the local advisory committee,” added Mr Fellow. “Every endeavour will be made to guard against licences being reduced below the margin required to effect the necessary saving in consumption, and an appeal is made to all licence holders to accent the cut in a generous spirit.”
