MAURICEVILLE WEST
COMING OF AGE PARTY MISS J. LARSEN HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) A most enjoyable time was spent recently at the Memorial Hall when Mr and Mrs A. Larsen entertained a large number of relatives and friends at a social gathering in honour of the coming of age of their daughter, Joyce. Vocal items were rendered by Miss June Larsen, Messrs A. Larsen, N. Williams and A. Williams. The music foi’ the dancing was provided by Mr J. West. Mr G. Fredricksen made an efficient M.C. At the supper interval, Mr A. Forsberg spoke in glowing terms of the personal qualities of the guest of the evening, and on behalf of those present thanked Mr and Mrs Larsen for their hospitality. Mr Larsen suitably replied. The birthday cake was cut by Miss Larsen who was attired in a pretty dress of pale pink hailstone net over pink satin. Mrs Larsen wore a frock in a shade of London tan. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and God Save the King brought a happy gathering to a close. Personal Items. Mr G. Nielsen and Mr O. Mortensen have returned home after having spent a holiday with relatives in Taranaki. Miss D. Nielsen is spending a holiday with friends in. Wellington. Private C. Nielsen, Trentham Camp, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr and Mrs M. J. Nielsen. Miss D. Palmer, Te Awamutu, has returned from a holiday spent with her parents, Mr and Mrs R. Palmer. Mrs H. Trass is the guest of her daughter in Wellington.
