Skeet, of Wellington, was the guest of Mrs O. Skeet, Purakau, for the weekend. Hockey Notes. The senior game on Saturday between Greytown and Carterton was decided by the better positional play and speed on attack of the Carterton players. Had the local players kept a better forward line, and the backs clearing shots been directed more to the wings, a much closer contest might have resulted. The game was a very good exhibition of stick play. Both sides lost 'scoring opportunities, the local team especially showing weakness in the circle. Hobson gave a very good performance. Rees in the forwards also went well. Eouzaid made some very good clearing shots right up the side line, while Brown put in sound work at centre half. Although the score in the junior game between College and Scouts was a large one, the game was well contested throughout. College gained the lead bv excellent penalty corner goals, as well as by a superiority in passing.
