MAGNIFICENT RESPONSE TO WAR DEMANDS.
TRIBUTE BY LORD HALIFAX.

The British Ambassador, Lord Halifax, in a broadcast from Detroit, said: “Less than a year ago your Government called on American industry to produce weapons of defence'in quantities which few minds were capable of grasping. Your response has been magnificent. You have built up an immense arsenal of vital weapons of war. The next few months will be crucial but I am more confident than ever of final victory."
