FINALS DECIDED

(“Times-Age” Special.) Sparkling football was witnessed by a good attendance of spectators at uie annual Wairarapa Primary schools Rugby tournament, held at the Carter - ton showgrounds .today. The weat.ier was ideal, and the grounds wore in good order. The tournament was run as a seven-a-side competition. The boys entered into the spirit of the game ano throw the ball about in fine style., The matches were run off promptly to time by a committee consisting of Messrs W. Martin (Carterton), T. A. Ha”dy (Martinborough), A. L. Clelano. (Central), and V. A. Welch (West). The secretary. Mr J .A. Kennedy, was an untiring worker. The finals in the various sections produced fast, clean football, and the winning teams were fully extended, with the exception of the senior final, in which Carterton had an easy win over Featherston. The referees were Messrs H. Morris. H. Matson, W. Spooner, P. Reid and H. Johns. The results are as follow: — Senior. First round: Carterton beat Central A, 13 points to nil; Featherston boat Lansdowne by 6 points to nil. Semi-finals: Carterton boat Martinborough by 4 points to nil; Featherston A beat Central B by 6 points to nil. Final: Carterton beat Featherston, 16-0. Junior. First round: Greytown A beat Central B by 6 points to 3 ;Martinborough beat St. Patrick’s by 6 points to 4; Central A beat Carterton by 6 points to 3; West A. beat Featherston by 14 points to nil: Greytown beat Central B by 6 points to 3; Lansdowne beat Central D by 11 points to 0. ’ Second round: Greytown B beat West B bv 5 points to nil; Greytown A boat Martinborough by 3 points to nil; West A beat Central A by one point (a forcedown) to nil; Lansdowne boat Central C by 4 points to 3. Semi-finals: Greytown B beat Greytown A by a force-down; West A. beat Lansdowne, 16 points to 4. Final: West beat Greytown, 2-0. Third Grade. First round: St. Patrick's A beat West by 9 points to 1 (a force-down); Featherston beat Central B by 10 points to nil. Second round: Central A beat Carterton by 12 points to nil; Featherston beat St. Patrick’s B by 6 points to nil; West A beat Marlinborough by 6 points to 3. Semi-final: Central A boat St.. Patrick’s A, 3-0; West A beat Featherston. 4-0. Final: West A beat Central A, 6-3.
