PETROL RATIONING
ACTION IN UNITED STATES.

The Secretary of the Interior, „ Mr Ickes, who is oil controller, declared that voluntary rationing had been unsuccessful. In order to avoid more serious petrol rationing, he asked the oil industry to close 100,000 service stations in the Eastern States from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily as from Sundaynext.
