WATERFRONT DISPUTE

SETTLEMENT IN WELLINGTON.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.

The hold-up on the Wellington waterfront in respect to the unloading of a cargo of guano ended this morning. The company handling the cargo was not prepared to pay the rate of 4s 6d an hour claimed by the men, who did not turn up at 8 a.m., when it was raining. Although it was fine later in the day, the men did not resume work. This morning, however, work on the unloading of the ship was begun.
