GAINED BV THE TOBRUK GARRISON ITALIAN LINES PENETRATED i DEEPLY. MANY ENEMY CASUALTIES. LONDON, July 30. A Middle East communique reports yet another successful British action from Tobruk. On Monday night a strong fighter patrol in the eastern sector penetrated the Italian lines two miles from our lines and inflicted many enemy casualties. Other patrols from the south went deep into enemy positions, but failed to meet any opposition. In the frontier area mechanised forces destroyed stores of aviation spirit and oil on an enemy landing ground.
