LOCAL CHAMPIONSHIPS LAST NIGHT'S GAMES. FULL OF SURPRISES. The games played last evening were not up to the usual high standard but were full of surprises. In the ladies’ A grade section, Garages brought off the firs.t surprise of the evening by holding Woolworths to a 2-all draw. State Kitchenette in the senior B division continued their winning way and defeated McKenzies by 11 points to 6. In the junior ladies, Taltons played a much more open game than usual and held Rangers B, the leading team in that section, to a draw, 10 points each. The Y.M.C.A. gymnasium was packed after the Vesta-Woolworths game had been in progress a few minutes. The half-time score was 4-3 in favour of Woolworths, and Vesta were very fortunate in holding the fast-improv-ing Woolworths team to a draw, 9 all. this being the third drawn game during the evening.
