SOCIAL EVENING
GATHERING AT THE EPIPHANY HALL.
A very pleasant evening was given in the Epiphany Hall on Saturday night when the friends of Leading Aircraftman K. Catherall gathered toge-’ ther to entertain him. About 150 people were present. Dancing was indulged in and among the items were dance solos by Miss Edna Corlett and a sailor’s hornpipe by Jack Ryan. Both items were much appreciated. Leonie Forrest and Keitha Catherall rendered recitations.
After supper, among other presentations, a well-filled wallet was handed to Leading Aircraftman Catherall by Mr J. E. Carruthers, on behalf of the many friends present. Mr A. E. Bright endorsed his remarks and on behalf of those present wished the guest of the evening bon voyage and a safe return.
Mrs K. Catherall was presented with a bouquet and Mrs J. Catherall Senr., received a choice pot plant. Extras were played by Mr McGovern and with the help of many happy workers the evening was brought to a dose with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
