INDOOR BASKETBALL
FAST AND ENTERTAINING PLAY RESULTS OF LAST NIGHT'S COMPETITION. LARGE ATTENDANCE OF SPECTATORS. Fast and entertaining play was witnessed by a large gallery of spectators at the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium, Masterton, last night, when the third round of the Wairarapa Indoor Basketball Association’s competition was commenced. All games showed a considerable improvement in the standard of play, which was considered to be on account of the experience gained in the tournament in the Town Hall on Saturday night. It was noticeable that the ball was thrown about more freely. The surprise of the evening’s play in the women's section was the defeat of Cody's at the hands of State A. The following are the results:— Ladies’ Senior A. Lancers (Joan Gemmell 9; Beryl Linton 4, Pat Hanley 2 goals) beat Galagos, 15-0. Woolworths (Jean Raiding 8, Thelma Fawcett 4, E. Dixon 2) beat Banks (F. Bellis 4, Thelma Davis 1), 14-5. Ladies’ Senior B. Cathies (M. McCormack 4, E. Raiding 2, J. Griffiths 2) beat McDuffs (J. Fitzwater 2), 8-2. McKenzies (T. Jones 2, J.
