IN OUTCOME OF BATTLE OF ATLANTIC. ENCOURAGING PROGRESS. (Bv Telegraph—-Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, July 22. Following the news of the continued air offensive against Germany and German-occupied territory, it was learned in London today that in recent weeks the progress of the Battle of the Atlantic by the Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm, and the R.A.F.. has been encouraging. Taking all factors into consideration, it is not wishful thinking to regard the future with sober confidence, says a commentator, provided everybody in this country does everything possible for the war effort and provided there is no wastage. It is pointed out, however, that in such a battle Britain must be prepared for ups and downs.
