BASED ON MERIT
PROMOTION IN BRI TISH ARMY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, July 21. Replying Io a question in the House of Commons the Secretary for War Captain IT. D. R. Margcsson, said he was satisfied that the system of promotion to commissioned rank in the Army was based entirely on merit and was free from any suggestion of favouritism or the use of influence.
