SUDDEN DEATH

PRINCE CONSORT OF TONGA. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) RUGBY, July 21. The Honourable Viliami Tugi, Prince Consort of Tonga, died suddenly yesterday, the Colonial Office announces. He married Queen Salote in 1917 and had been Premier since 1923. A telegram from the Assistant High Commissioner of the Western Pacific says that during the period of Tugi’s Premiership, relations with Tonga have been marked by cordiality. He always worked hard and loyally for the welfare of the people of Tonga.
