OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS
INDOOR BASKETBALL (To the Editor.) Sir —According to your report on the * indoor basketball played last Saturday evening, it was the most successful tournament yet held. I fail to see why the committee are so pleased with their efforts, as each player had to pay the shilling admittance fee at the door, V--the same as the public. Now, I have heard this matter discussed quite freely, and the general opinion seems to be that the Interhouse people are rather grasping. Surely when it costs 6s per year (each player) it should entitle them to free admission to the knock-out tournament. This is not the only expense the girls have as their costumes are provided in part by themselves. their sandshoes are quite expensive, also socks. Perhaps the committee overlook these small items, but when they are tallied up they become quite an item for these working girls.—l am, etc.. BASKETBALL FAN. Masterton, July 22.
