PIRINOA
INFLUENZA OUTBREAK MANY CASES REPORTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) There are many cases of influenza among adults and children in this district. The weather has been very cold during the past few days. Heavy frosts have also been experienced. Personal Items. Miss Allen, assistant at the local school, is indisposed and will be absent from her duties for a while. Mr Andrbw Simeon, Feilding, is visiting relatives in this district. Mr J. Latta, supervisor of the Native Development Scheme, was a visitor' here during the week. Master R. Hutana is an inmate of the Masterton Hospital. Mr Heta, accompanied by Mr Ike Watson, has returned to Halcombs. Miss Tiny Temiha, who has been visiting relatives here, has returned to Masterton. The funeral of the late Miss Lula Kaio took place at Moiki cemetery on Tuesday. Numerous wreaths from both Maori’s and pakehas covered the coffin. Among them was one from the Martinborough Girl Guides. The Rev. Manihera and Watene, of the Ratana church, conducted the service at the graveside.
