STORY ABOUT MR HOLLAND. PAYMENT TO STAY OUT OF WAR CABINET. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A suggestion that he was being paid £lOOO a year and £650 travelling expenses to stay out of the War Cabinet was vigorously denied by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr -Holland - , in an interjection during a speech by Mr Thorn (Government, Thames). Mr Thorn was discussing Mr Holland’s views on national unity. “What truth is there in a statement I read in the official Labour paper that certain interests are paying the honourable gentleman £lOOO a year with £650 a year travelling expenses to keep out of the War Cabinet?” Mr Thorn asked.
