STOCK MARKET
CLEARING SALE. KEEN COMPETITION FOR COWS. Messrs Dalgety & Company, Ltd. (inc. in England) report having held a most satisfactory clearing sale on account of Mr Duncan Wilson of Featherston, on the properly latterly owned by Mr R. G. Burt. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the Wairarapa, and also from the Lower Hutt district. The herd, which was a very good one. camo forward in splendid condition, and July and August calvers met with keen competition. The complete herd was disposed of at an average of just over £l4 per cow. Young cows, July calvers, made from £l3 up to £lB 10s; August calvers, £lO 15s, £l2 10s and up to £l3; early September calvers from £9 to £ll. Jersey cross heifers. August and September calves, realised from £8 to lOgns.
