TRIPLE OVERTIME
FOR SOME DAIRY WORKERS. QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. An inquiry whether certain dairy companies were now required to pay triple rates for overtime was contained in a question addressed to the Minister of Labour. Mr Webb, by Mr Kidd (Opposition. Waitaki). Mr Kidd asked if it is correct that dairy companies supplying milk to cities and towns and compelled by the nature of their business to work all holidays and on Sundays, have been notified by the Labour Department that all overtime in future will have to be paid for at triple rates. In a note to his question, Mr Kidd asked whether the Government paid its own employees who had to work on holidays and Sundays the same rate as dairy companies were compelled to pay.
