MEETING AT TARATAHI COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Perfect weather conditions prevailed for the weekend competition held by members of the Wairarapa Gun Club on the club’s grounds, Norfolk Road, Taratahi. The marksmanship of Messrs McKenzie brothers, Masterton, and especially that of Mr J. D. McKepzie, who was shooting right up to his best form, was very good. The following are scores: First match (sparrows, 12 birds): D. S. McKenzie (21yds), 10; J. W. McKenzie (21yds) 10; J. D. McKenzie (20yds) 10; H. J. Bannister (16yds) 10; W. D. Moroney (16yds) 9; A. McKay (16yds) 9; F. E. Allen (16yds) 8; L. Rayner (16yds) 8. Second match (sparrows, 4 birds): J. W. McKenzie (22yds) 3; D. S. McKenzie (22yds) 3; C. E. Grey (21yds) 3; H. J. Bannister (17yds) 3; F. Yule (16yds) 3; S. M. Baird (16yds) 3. Third match (clay birds, 10-bird sweepstake).—A grade: J. D. McKenzie (17yds) 10; C. E. Grey (18yds) 9; H. J. Nitz (16yds) 8. B grade: A. McKay (11yds) 10; F. E. Allen (12yds) 8; J. Crawford (11yds) 8; H. J. Bannister (12yds) 7. Fourth match (clay birds, double rise, 5 pairs).—A grade: J. D. McKenzie (16yds) 7; C. E. Grey (16yds) 6. B grade: W. D. Moroney, F. E. Allen, F. Yule, L. Rayner and H. J. Bannister, all off 14yds, shot 4 each. In the sho.ot off F. E. Allen proved the winner, with W. D. Moroney second.
