VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Fire Brigade was held last evening. Superintendent J. Wood presided over a full attendance. The Eketahuna Brigade forwarded an invitation to their annual ball, and five members signified their intention of being present. The Superintendent stated that another four auxiliary firemen were required to bring this unit up to full strength. It was hoped, stated the Superintendent, that the E.P.S. Committee would soon commence to function and assist in securing the required number. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £7 4s. The secretary reported the receipt of another bucket pump. WEDDING FOUNTAINE THOMPSON. A very pretty wedding took place at Knox Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternoon, the contracting parties being Miss Elsie Doreen Thompson, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Thompson, of Grey town, and Air Pilot Officer Charles Albert Fountaine, eldest son of Mr and Mrs C. D. Fountaine, of Kumeroa, Woodville. The Rev. H. Bloomfield officiated and the deputy organist presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr John Thompson, wore a gown of oyster pink satin modelled on Parisian lines, the waist line designed to form a pin-tucked butterfly. T£e full trained skirt was trimmed with small pink velvet flowers. Her tulle veil with frilled edge, forming a cape effect, fell softly into a second train. The shower bouquet was comprised of pink- carnations, camellias and maidenhair fern with a lucky horseshoe pendant from the elbow. The bridesmaids, Misses Wynne Thompson and Mabel Fountaine, sister of the bride and bridegroom respectively, wore shell pink silver striped taffeta, with matching shoulder veils, and carried shower bouquets of japonica and maidenhair fern. The best man was Mr’ John Fountaine, brother of the bridegroom, and Pilot Officer Stevenson, R.N.Z.A.F., acted as groomsman. After the ceremony an informal gathering was held at the Empire Hotel, Masterton, where relatives were entertained, and the usual toasts were honoured. When Mr and Mrs Fountaine left for their future home in Nelson, the bride travelled in a grey tailored costume with black accessories.
