WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAITUNA=FERNRIDGE monthly meeting of members. COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Kaituna-Fernridge Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting in the local hall. Mrs lorns presided over a fair attendance of members. It was decided to provide two soldier parcels this month. Members were asked to support a shop day which was to be held on August 1 by the Red Cross Society. A “field day” with Miss C. Johnson will take the place of the usual monthly meeting in August. Miss O. lorns gave a very interesting travel talk, for which she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Members sewed at patchwork quilts during the afternoon. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Laing and Pringle. The competitions resulted as follows: Cornish pastie, Mrs Keir and Mrs Welsh equal 1. Flowers. .Mrs Laing 1, Mrs Alan Keir and Mrs Pike equal 2.
