WASTE PAPER
DETAILS OF KINDS REQUIRED. COLLECTION IN MASTERTON. Further details concerning the collection of waste paper have been received by the Town Clerk, Mr G. T. O'Hara Smith, from the secretary _ of the National Council for Reclamation of Waste Material, following on the recent visit to Masterton of Mr J. M. A. Hott, a member of the council. Papers required are the following. Newspapers, catalogues, magazines brown paper, periodicals, old letters, cardboard boxes, cartons, etc (not waxed or greasy), telephone books price lists, scrap paper, overseas papers, old business and office books, old music, scrap cardboard, cigarette cartons or packets (not tins). It is stated that local libraries outside the centres are willing to contribute surplus newspapers, old magazines, etc., and business firms, on approach, would no doubt be glad to contribute old account books, invoices, old bills of lading, order sheets, delivery dockets, calenders, etc. An assurance can be given that any documents donated deemed to be- of a private and confidential nature may be packed and specially marked. These papers would be separately handled, sent out of the Dominion and destroyed and pulped under supervision arranged by the council. An average of £2 Is 6d would go to patriotic funds for each two tons of paper received.
