OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS
FREE KINDERGARTENS (To the Editor) Sh-—The thanks of the Master ton Free Kindergartens Committee will no doubt be extended to you and the Trust Lands Trust at the next meeting for the timely assistance rendered to this project. I hope Mr Daniell will change his mind re the ™ ove ‘ men! when he realises that although Germany can claim the credit for instituting Free Kindergartens the present ruler, Adolph Hitler, has decreed that they 7 must be closed. The suggestion that we should be guided by the opinion of any orthodox teacher who is opposed to the scheme does not interest us'. We are more likely to be influenced by advanced thinkers, who are already claiming the need for pre-kindergarten schools, realising that any real improvement in the world must come from the untrammelled minds of the young. Thanking you for your courtesy. —I am. etc.. M. G. MACKAY. Masterton. July 15.
