ENJOYABLE GATHERING

C. A. CARRIG HONOURED. FUNCTION ON SATURDAY NIGHT. There was an enjoyable gathering held at the residence of Mr and Mrs S. J. O’Connor, Norfolk Road, Waingawa, on Saturday night when a large number of friends met to honour Mr C. A. Carrig prior to his entering camp for overseas service. Mr Carrig is a well known golf player and a popular member of the staff of the Masterton Post Office. He was formerly a member of the Red Star senior football team and a Wairarapa representative Player. , . , A pleasant time was spent m dancing to music supplied by Messrs N. O’Kane and T. Hicks. Tributes to Mr Carrig’s personal qualities were paid by Messrs R. Blake and Hill, who wished him every success and a safe return. Mr Cai rig, who was accorded musical honouis, suitably acknowledged the sentiments expressed by the speakers. A savoury supper was served.
