COURSING
WAIRARAPA CLUB AFFAIRS
An executive meeting of the Wairarapa Coursing Club was held last night. Mr S. D. Geary presided in the absence of the president, Mr J. Bradbury. A report of the North Island Cup meeting was tabled. The meeting proved a financial success. Committee members expressed their appreciation to the hon. secretary, Mr A. F. Hare, by granting a small bonus, also to the hon. judge, Mr S. Geary. Mr Hare, by his careful attention to detail, had helped considerably to make the meeting a success both financially and in the smooth running of the events. The next coursing to be held at Akura would be on July 19 when Hawke’s Bay owners would make a determined bid for the maiden class Banner at present held by the Wairarapa Club. Also on that date the Archer Cup would be contested. This was an open class trophy. W. Williams has donated a trophy in the maiden class, which probably will be competed for at the end of the season.
