GLADSTONE
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING. ' (“Times-Age” Special.) The Gladstone Women's Institute held its monthly meeting in the Gladstone Hall yesterday, Mrs Joblin presiding over a fair attendance of members. There was a bring and buy stall for the Federation funds, and this was well patronised. The competitions resulted as follows: —The tearing of an elephant out of paper: Mrs Wellwood. Best bloom: Mrs Joblin. Face cloth novelty: Mrs Joblin, 1; Miss A. Bubb, 2. The roll call, “An amusing anecdote about a bird or animal,” brought forth some amusing experiences and stories. Afternoon tea was served, the hostess being Miss Crew.
