Defence officials said the output of American warplanes had reached its highest level in June, despite the estimated production loss of 70 planes, due to the strike of the employees of the North American Aviation Company. Preliminary reports indicated that production was substantially over 1,400 planes, compared with the previous peak of 1,389 in April.
