And while we are on the subject remember that metal coffee pots, unless they are aluminium, should always be kept bright inside. If discoloration has already occurred, try boiling the pot with a little washing soda dissolved in some soapy water. But do not rinse thoroughly afterwards. No teapot should be allowed to get encrusted with tannin as it spoils the flavour of tea. and the teapot should be well aired before it is put away. If the teapot has become coated with tannin, put in a lump of soda, fill to the brim with boiling water, and put on the lid, Let Jhis stand overnight, then wash the teapot well and rinse thoroughly.
