Three Army bombers crashed for lack of fuel near here last night. They had refuelled at Phoenix (Arizona) for the flight’s last leg, but the planes apparently headed in the wrong direction after crossing the sierra and later discovered that only a few minutes’ supply of gasoline was left. All the members of the crews baled out and landed safely, one being injured.
