SALE AT ADDINGTON VALUES FIRMER., J<EEN DEMAND FOR FAT SHEEP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 9. At the Addington market values were firmer for main classes of fat stock and firmer for store sheep. The entry was small but the inquiry was excellent and prices', improved Is to Is 6d a head. For fat sheep there was an entry of the same size as last week and' demand was keen, particularly for medium weights of good quality. Prices all round were up to Is better. Best wethers made 30s to 345; others, 20s to 29s 6d; best ewes, 24s to 30s Id; others, 16s 6d to 23s 6d. The lamb entry was very small but because of the absence of one exporter who had been operating freely till this week, values were lower by up to Is 6d a head for all except heavier sorts. For fat cattle there was an entry of 454. They included a few heavyweights and the sale improved by 10s to 20s a head. Good beef made to 40s per 100 lbs. and medium 35s to 37s 6d. The pork entry was of the same size as last week but baconers were fewer. Best porkers were a shade dearer but others unchanged, as were baconers. Choppers improved 10s a head. Porkers made 40s to £3 6s 6d, an average per lb. of 8d to 9d; baconers, £3 7s 6d to £5 9s 6d, an average per lb. of Gijd to 71d.
