MEDIATION EFFORT
IN ECUADOR-PERU DISPUTE UNITED STATES & LATIN REPUBLICS. AMERICAN AID FOR RUSSIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 8. The Assistant Secretary of State (Mr Sumner Welles) told the Press that the United States, Argentina and Brazil were exchanging views as to the possibility of settling the difficulties between Peru and Ecuador. Replying to a question concerning American aid for the Soviet, Mr Welles said plans were proceeding rapidly and effectively.
