INDOOR BASKETBALL
LOCAL ASSOCIATION LAST NIGHT'S RESULTS. SEVERAL SURPRISES. There were many surprises in the indoor basketball competitions held at the Y.M.C.A. last evening. In the ladies senior A grade W.F.C.A. suffered their first reverse, being defeated by Lancers, while in the men’s division Bouzaids scored a well earned win over State Kitchenette. The results are as follow: — Ladies’ Games. Lancers 9 (J. Gemmell 2, B. Linton 2, P. Hanley 5) beat W.F.C.A. 6 (A. Keisenberg 2, I. Palmer 4). Banks 9 (F. Bellis 3, V. Hendry 2, M. Baskeville 3, P. Cretney 1) beat Garages 8 (L. O’Niel 4, J. Urwin 2, C. Talbot 2). State Kitchenette A 17 (J. Jones 12, A. Stains 5) beat McDuffs 6 (J. Fitzwater 2, M. Hourigan 2, B. Bennington 2). McKenzies 6 (T. Jones 2, V. Grimwood 4), beat Cathies 2 (M. McCormack 2). Codys 13 (M. Eastwood 4, J. Barber 3, R. Eastwood 6) beat Rovers 2 (N. Needham 2). Sparklets 8 (P. Dixon 4. O. Richards 2, E. McGovern 2) beat Rangers B 0. Rangers A 12 (R. Ghorley 8, E. Puru 2, V. Dewar 2) beat State Kitchenette B 0. Men’s Games. [ W.F.C.A. 18 (G. Colquhon 2, G. McCormack 1, M. Doyle 12, N. Wilson 3) beat Woolworths 4 (T. Condon 2, B. Ryan 2). Bouzaids 17 (H. Hayes 2, R. Harrington 11, S. Faulknor 4) beat States Kitchenette 8 (T. Burns 5, E. Jaspers 2, D. Ranston 1).
