NAZI LOSSES
AT LEAST HALF A MILLION KILLED OR WOUNDED. ACCORDING TO BRITISH CORRESPONDENT. ißv Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day 12.15 p.m.) LONDON. July 7.
Hitler has put 100.000 Italian troops into France, to take the place of Germans who have been sent to fight in Russia, reports the “Daily Telegraph's" Stockholm correspondent. German occupation troops in Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria have also been sent to the -front line and a small number of Italians have been risked against Russia. The losses are disturbing the German High Command, despite the stories of fantastically low casualties issued for internal consumption. It is certain that the Russia.n losses have been heavier than the German, but it is equally certain that the Nazi casualties thus far are not less than 500,000 killed or wounded. GERMAN REPORT DEVELOPMENTS IN GALICIA & ELSEWHERE. (Received This Day, Noon.) LONDON. July 7. A German communique states: “Rumanians and Hungarians have captured Czernowitz (Cernauti) and reached the upper course of the Dniester. The pursuit of the enemy is continuing on a wide front beyond the Galician river Seret. “German army units northward of
the Pripet Marshes are fighting towards' the Dnieper and upper Dvina. “German-Finnish troops are progressing according to plan.”
