ECUADOR REPORTS ATTACK BY PERU PLANES DESTROY MILITARY BARRACKS. INTENSIVE FIGHTING CONTINUES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) QUITO, July 6. Official sources allege that the Peruvians today attacked the frontier towns of Chacras, Aguas Verdes, Hmaquillas and Carcabon, using artillery and aircraft. The Minister of Defence said the battle was continuing intensely on the Ecuadorian side of the frontier. He asserted that Peruvian planes had totally destroyed the military barracks at Chacras.
