1 SALE AT FEILDING IMPROVEMENT IN VALUES. I DECIDED RISE IN WETHER I MUTTON. I (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) I FEILDING. July 4. A general improvement was shown I in every section of the Feilding sale i I today, 'all lines selling freely at advanced rates. Wether mutton made a decided rise, first quality pens making 26s lOd, while second-class lines sold at 25s 3d. Lambs also improved, prime sorts going up to 25s lOd, while a few first quality ewes sold at 15s Id. For store sheep there was a good inquiry, with aged breeding ewes meeting with a firm demand. Very good five-year ewes made 19s 6d, while younger ewes up to six-iooihs sold at 255. The sale for lambs was keen, with all quality lines higher in price. Best wether lambs in forward condition made 20s, while lesser quality blackfaces brought 17s 2d. Good ewe lambs changed hands at 25s 9d, and two-tooth wethers at 21s. Not many station cattle were yarded but boner cows were in good supply and condition, making advanced prices. Heavyweights sold at £4 Is 6d to £4 17s 7d. Forward three to four-year A.A. bullocks realised £9 Bs, and two- , year A.A. heifers from £4 4s to £5 12s. A heavy entry of dairy stock made a good clearance, early-calving cows changing hands at up to £lO ss, while heifers made to £9. Beef enjoyed a very firm safe, the quality of the offering showing a decided improvement. Prime Hereford heifers advanced to £ll 2s 6d, while best quality cows also showed an improvement in price at £8 12s 6d. Light prime steers made to £9 7s 6d. The keen inquiry for pigs resulted in a total clearance being effected. Prices are: — Fat Sheep. —Extra prime wethers, 25s Id to 26s lOd; prime, 23s 7d to 24s lid; others, 23s Id; extra prime ewes, 13s 4d to 15s Id; prime, Ils to 12s lOd; unfinished, 8s lOd to 10s 9d: extra prime lambs, 24s 4d to 25s lOd; prime, 22s to 24s Id; lighter, 17s 7d to 21s lOd; hoggets, 24s 4d. Pigs.—-Large woaners, 12s 6d to 20s; small, 7s to 10s 6d; light stores, 25s to 32s 6d; large, 40s to 465. CARTERTON SALE LATE RATES MAINTAINED. A TOTAL CLEARANCE. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson & Co., Ltd., report that a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at Carterton sale yesterday. Prices were on a par with late rates, and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep—Fat hoggets, 20s, 23s 9d to 24s 9d; light fat wethers, to 21s; fat ewes, to 12s; fat wethers, 23s Id to 26s 3d;'Em. ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, to 12s 6d; ewe hoggets, to 16s 7d; wether hoggets, 15s 4d, 16s 9d, 17s Id to 18s 9d; small wether hoggets, 12s 3d to 14s 9d; forward ewes, to 9s; cull hoggets, 5s 3d to 5s 4d.
