BOBBY CALVES COMMITTEE MEMBERS ELECTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Messrs C. J. Connor, A. T. Cooper, E. McAnulty. P. Davies, F. J. Evans, G. A. Hansen, A. Campbell, J. E. J. Monaghan, R. Mabey and E. A. Harrington have been elected members of the Eketahuna Bobby Calf Committee. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the members of the Eketahuna Women’s Institute. Mrs. D. Fraser presided. Members of the Rongokokako Institute provided an excellent musical programme, for which they were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mrs. Winters demonstrated the making of bed socks, the pattern used being favoured by the Red Cross Society. A musical parcel game was won by Miss M. Hooper, and “Passing the Parcel” by Miss Anderson. A skill test was won by Mrs. F. Schormann, and a drawing contest by Mrs. Fraser. Miss A. Schultz gave two recitations, “A Visit to the Cinema” and “The Clean Sweep.’-’ These were greatly enjoyed. Mrs. Fraser presented Mrs. Schormann with a sandwich tray bearing the Women's Institute badge. In making the presentation, Mrs. Fraser referred to the good work carried out by Mrs. Schormann during her long term as secretary. Mrs. Schormann suitably acknowledged the gift. The monthly competitions resulted as follows: —Sugar bag article: Mrs. Baucke (child’s coat), 1; Mrs. Fraser (darning bag), 2; Mrs. Baucke (garden hat), 3. Best bloom: Mrs Fauvel 1, Mrs Albrechtsen 2, Mrs. Petersen 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Sturgeon, Gray and Robertson.
