TIRAUMEA
WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETING OF MEMBERS. (••Times-Age” Special.) The Tiraumea branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its monthly meeting in the Tiraumea Hall on Thursday. There was a good attendance of members presided over by Mrs R. J. Harman. Senr. During the afternoon remits for the forthcoming conference were dealt with. It was decided to celebrate the birthday of the local branch in the usual way in the second week of the school holidays. There was a good collection of handkerchiefs and pieces of linen for the Red Cross Society and also enough gifts from members to make parcels for two Tiraumea soldiers overseas. The flower competition was won by Mrs R. Houlbrooke'and the “Wandering Shilling" by Marion Robbie. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs D. Jewitt, and ' Miss Grace Harman. Personal. Miss Betty Renner, of Masterton. has taken up duties as relieving teacher at the Tiraumea School.
