Brown, Masterton weather recorder, supplies the following summary for June (figures for June last year given in parentheses):— Pressure at 9 a.m. standard time, highest, 30.52 inches on 26th (30.82); lowest, 29.5 on 11th, 13th, and 14 th (29.79). Temperature: Absolute shade maximum, 61.6 degrees on 11th (64.7); absolute shade minimum, 24.3 degrees on 24th (23.6). Thus the range was 37.3 (41.1). Mean temperature for the month, 43.3 (44). Absolute grass minimum, 15.7 on 24th (15.3); average grass minimum, 27.7 (25.2); average at one foot underground. 44.4 (43). .Severest frost, 14.7 on night of 23rd (15.1). Days of frost (grass minimum 30.4 degrees Fahr, or lower), 18 (23); of shade temperature below 32 degrees Fahr., 9 (13); of gale. 2 (2). Total rainfall, 5 inches on 19 days (1.28); greatest fall, 77 points on 16th (35). Total sunshine, 124.8 hours (148.8); daily average, 4.2; sunniest day. Ist. 8.7 hours (8.7); wind run, 2873 miles (1821); average, 95.7.
