EMERGENCY HOSPITALS
QUESTION OF STAFFING. MEETING IN MASTERTON. A further meeting of representatives of women’s organisations was held in the Red Cross Society’s Room, Masterton, on Wednesday to discuss matters relative to the staffing of emergency hospitals and the appointment of a committee to carry out these arrangements. Mrs G. G. Tolhurst presided over a large attendance. Apologies for absence were received from the Women’s National Welfare League, Methodist Ladies’ Guild, Mrs D. McKenzie and Mrs Thompson. The following were appointed to the committee: Mrs Bannister, Mrs R. Miller, Mrs Burke, Mrs C. Cook, Mrs Heath. Miss M. Diggins was appointed secretary.
It was decided that al] representatives present at the meeting should endeavour to obtain, tiie names of persons willing to act on the domestic staff of emergency hospitals, and they are requested to hand their names to Miss Diggins. Mrs W. James spoke of the great assistance that could be given to these hospitals by persons who would be willing to provide cooked food for evening meals should the occasion for these hospitals arise.
