ARMED MAN ATTACKS TELLER LATTER LOCKED IN STOREROOMSUM OF £540 STOLEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEWCASTLE, July 3. An armed robber entered the Mayfield branch of the Union Bank today, attacked the bank teller (Mr H. Tanner) rendered him unconscious and stole £540. Mr Tanner was discovered locked in a storeroom at the rear of the bank. He was alone when the affair happened, the manager being temporarily absent in Newcastle.
