MASTERTON SALE

The Associated Auctioneers report on their weekly Masterton sale held yesterday, as follows: —A full yarding cf sheep and a special entry of fat and store cattle came forward and met a keen and spirited sale from a large and representative gathering. Fat sheep sold on a par with the last sale, while hoggets made better values! The cattle yarded attracted much attention. Fat cows and heifers sold well while weaner steers and both store and P.A. cows r.w.b., made prices in excess of vendors’ estimates. A total clearance was effected under the hammer, and the following list of prices will indicate values:—

Sheep: Fat wethers, 24s 7d: light fa' wethers £1; fat ewes, 13s Id, light do. 10s 4d to Ils; fat and fwd ewes, 8s to 9s Id; woolly wether hoggets, 17s; medium wether hoggets, 14s 3d; small cull b.f. hoggets, 12s 4d to 13s Id; wool ly ewe hoggets, 23s Cd; aged ewes r.w. S.D.r., 9s 9d to 10s 4d.

Cattle: Springing cows, £8; prime fat heifers, £B, £8 5s to £8 10s; prime fat cows, £7 14s, £7 10s, to £7 18s; light fat cows, £6 J Os, £6 16s to £6 19s; vealers, £3, £3 Ils; medium weaner steers, £3 Bs, £4 5s for better sorts; P.A. cows r.w.P.A. bull, £5, £5 2s to ( £5 4s; fwd P.A. cows, £5, £5 ss; store P.A. cows, £4 10s, £4 12s; low condition P.A. cows r.w.P.A. bull, £3.
